This cheese knife called “le Buron” is the result of a successful collaboration between the designer Benjamin Auzier and Laguiole en Aubrac, it sits straight on the table. A mix of modernity and authenticity with its wide and stable handle and its curved and straight blade. A strong personality for this atypical knife packaged in a beautiful wooden box.

Le Buron Laguiole Cheese Knife Olivewood
Aubrac is known for its beautiful cows, its burons and its culinary specialities. The old burons in Aubrac still dot the landscape: these lauze-roofed huts evoke the time when shepherds found refuge in these cramped rooms to make and store cheese, and to shelter from the burle, that dreaded west wind.
Some restaurateurs have transformed these burons into real gastronomic and atypical restaurants where the preparation of aligot is done in the traditional way and the local products make the tables and the gourmets happy.

“Le buron” cheese knife with olivewood handle is decorated with a modernized and simplified bee. Its blade is made of stainless steel, it is handmade in France, in the village of Espalion.
Designed by Benjamin Auzier, when making his cheese knife sketches, he has always favored respect for tradition and the incomparable characteristics of the Aveyronnais region.

About olivewood:
Olivewood has been used to make knife handles for hundreds of years. It has a golden yellow color, nicely shaded and a knotty or linear pattern. Olive wood is very hard and dense.
Olive trees are known for their slow growth in generally barren, dry soil which makes olive wood very dense and hard - harder than any other type of wood native to Europe.
The irregular branch shape of the olive tree gives the wood very special properties: the knotty shape creates a typical individual pattern that varies from tree to tree.
