This Laguiole pocket knife features a handle made from snakewood, also known as amourette — a dense, exotic hardwood renowned for its fine grain and distinct, speckled appearance. Its naturally occurring “snakeskin” patterns, with deep reddish-brown tones and black mottling, give the handle a luxurious and unmistakable character. When polished to a glossy finish, snakewood reveals a smooth and almost glassy surface that enhances its visual richness.
The blade is forged in Balbach stainless Damascus steel, showcasing layered, fluid patterns formed during the forging process — no engraving involved. The double liners are hand-guilloché, adding decorative precision and structural strength. This Laguiole knife is handcrafted in the Laguiole en Aubrac workshop and features a handle made from premium snakewood. Also known as amourette, this exotic hardwood is prized for its density, durability, and striking mottled appearance resembling snakeskin. Polished to a glossy finish, the wood reveals deep reddish-brown tones with naturally dark, contrasting patterns.
