Around 1880, the corkscrew was added to Laguiole knives to meet the needs of the Aveyronnais who had come to Paris to work as café waiters. This innovative feature not only served a practical purpose but also played a part in elevating the Laguiole from a regional treasure to a nationally recognized icon of French craftsmanship, drawing attention from tourists visiting Paris.
